Revelation Chapter 19

Revelation 19:7 – The Lamb’s Marriage and War

Rejoice and exult! We shall glorify Him because the Marriage of the Lamb arrived. 1 [2 Corinthians 11:2; Isaiah 53:7]
1 The Marriage of the Lamb arrived: Final union with his Church upon the First Resurrection and the Rapture of his Saints. (2 Corinthians 11:2, 3; Ephesians 5:25) This marriage seems to occur following Babylon’s destruction, while the smoke of her burning city ascends the wedding festivities continue. The Lamb and his Church are to return for Armageddon. [Revelation 17:14]

Dear Friends of the Nazarene,

We choose Revelation 19:7 as the theme verse of chapter nineteen – Newly Married and Off to War. Christ’s revelation returns to the early verses in chapters fourteen and fifteen. John hears a “great crowd” singing in heaven. [1-3] They praise God Almighty for his vengeance on Babylon. Other heavenly beings praise God and call on all his slaves to do the same. [4, 5] The “great crowd” continues to praise God because the marriage of the Lamb has arrived. [6-8] The Lamb’s wife is characterized as bright and clean and righteous. The invited to the marriage feast are called blessed. [9, 10] John is over come in his emotions and falls to worship at the feet of the angel. He is warned to “worship The God.”

John now sees the Lamb on a white horse coming to judge righteously. [11-16] The One who is called “the Word” comes for war. He is followed by heavenly armies. The Lamb uses that “sword” originally described in chapter one against the nations. He now – with the Church – shepherds them with a rod of iron. The birds are called to gather for a great feast on the flesh of kings, military leaders, strong soldiers and their horses. [17, 18] The Sea Beast along with the [ten] kings and their armies are gathered to The War. [19-21] These along with the False Prophet are destroyed forever in the lake of fire.

Abba our Father bless the Saints who war together with the Lamb.
