Locate verse: Type a verse reference like 'Romans 10:9' or abbreviated 'Rm 10:9'. By just typing the verse one can jump to the corresponding verse on the active page (only works if the current page displays a chapter). If a chapter and a verse is entered without a book, the current selected book is assumed. Providing only the name of a book will bring one to the chapter index of that book. Examples (without the quotes): '1 Tim 3:16', 'Rv 1:8', 'Matthew 5', '3:16', '8', 'Phm'.

PSALMS (1-24, 26)

PSALM 13:
HOW LONG, O YEHOWAH

[A hymn of David]

PS13:1 How long, O Yehowah, will you completely forget me? How long will You hide Your face from me? PS13:2 How long must my anxieties be cooped up within my soul? 81 My daily sorrows in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
81 Anxieties be cooped up within my soul: Or, KJV: having sorrow in my heart; RSV: bear pain; RHM: lay up cares within; MOF: cherish a daily grief; HAR: keep my worries to myself; KNX: each day brings a fresh load of care, fresh misery to my heart. Compare Matthew 6:33.
PS13:3 Notice me and answer me, O Yehowah my God. Enlighten my eyes, lest I fall asleep in death. PS13:4 Lest my enemy says: “I have triumphed over him!” And my foes hope that I stumble. PS13:5 But I have trusted in Your covenant-loyalty. 82 My heart will rejoice in Your salvation.
82 Covenant-loyalty: Or, mercy, steadfast love, lovingkindness, unfailing love.
PS13:6 I will sing to Yehowah for He has dealt with me so richly.
