| Locate verse: Type a verse reference like 'Romans 10:9' or abbreviated 'Rm 10:9'. By just typing the verse one can jump to the corresponding verse on the active page (only works if the current page displays a chapter). If a chapter and a verse is entered without a book, the current selected book is assumed. Providing only the name of a book will bring one to the chapter index of that book. Examples (without the quotes): '1 Tim 3:16', 'Rv 1:8', 'Matthew 5', '3:16', '8', 'Phm'. |
PSALMS (1-24, 26)
[A hymn of David]
PS13:1 How long, O Yehowah, will you completely forget me? How long will You hide Your face from me?
PS13:2 How long must my anxieties be cooped up within my soul?81
My daily sorrows in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
PS13:3 Notice me and answer me, O Yehowah my God. Enlighten my eyes, lest I fall asleep in death.
PS13:4 Lest my enemy says: “I have triumphed over him!” And my foes hope that I stumble.
PS13:5 But I have trusted in Your covenant-loyalty.82
My heart will rejoice in Your salvation.
81 Anxieties be cooped up within my soul: Or, KJV: having sorrow in my heart; RSV: bear pain; RHM: lay up cares within; MOF: cherish a daily grief; HAR: keep my worries to myself; KNX: each day brings a fresh load of care, fresh misery to my heart. Compare Matthew 6:33.
PS13:6 I
will sing to Yehowah for He has dealt with me so richly.
82 Covenant-loyalty: Or, mercy, steadfast love, lovingkindness, unfailing love.
