PS17:1 Listen, O Yehowah, to my righteous plea. Pay attention to my cries. Give ear to my prayer spoken without deceit. PS17:2 Let my judgment come forth from Your presence. Let my eyes see justice. PS17:3 You have examined my heart. You have visited me during the night. You have tested me as with fire and discovered no unrighteousness in me. I am determined that my mouth will never speak improperly. PS17:4 Concerning the deeds of humans – by the words from Your lips I have kept myself from destructive paths. PS17:5 Guide my steps in Your paths so my steps never slip.
PS17:6 I have cried out, for You have listened to me, O God. Turn Your ear toward me and listen to my words. PS17:7 Demonstrate the wonders of your covenant-loyalty, You who save everyone hoping in You. PS17:8 Protect me as the apple of Your eye from those who resist Your right hand. Shield me with the cover of Your wings PS17:9 from the face of the irreverent oppressing me. My enemies have surrounded my soul. PS17:10 They have wrapped themselves up in their own fat, and they talk arrogantly. PS17:11 They have thrown me outside and now they surround me on every side. They stare at the ground not looking at me. PS17:12 They laid in wait for me like a lion stalking its prey, and like young lions lurking in hiding. PS17:13 Rise, O Yehowah, confront him face to face and bring him down. Deliver my soul from the lawless by Your own sword. PS17:14 With Your own hand, O Yehowah, [save me] from frail humans whose entire life is this present age. They are fully satisfied by Your gifts. They have plenty of children and they leave all their possessions as an inheritance to their young ones. PS17:15 As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness. When I wake up I will be completely fulfilled when Your glory appears.
