The Master taught by direct statement and by parabolic illustration that the Jewish religious hierarchy would kill him. [Matthew 21:39; Mark 9:31; 12:5, 8] It is very likely Jesus based these prophecies on Psalm 22, 118 and Isaiah 53.
Face to face with his would-be murderers Jesus told them: “I realize you Jews are Abraham’s Seed. However, you [Jews] are seeking to kill me, because my Word is finding no place in you… Now you [Jews] are seeking to kill me.” [John 8:37 NCMM]
Though it is clear from the Gospels that the Romans were the actual executioners of the Christ, the burden and blame is placed clearly on the Jews for instigating the whole matter. The apostles and intimate disciples of the Nazarene were witnesses to the Jewish culpability and laid the blame on them. [Acts 2:38, 41; 3:15; 7:52; 8:12, 36, 38; 10:47, 48]
Thus the Mosaic Curse has befallen the Jewish peoples throughout the ages unto our own times. [Deuteronomy chapters 18 and 28] Those who deny this deny not only Moses but also the Messiah.
